Loving Covers #02

It has been a little while since I have talked about either album covers or typography, so here’s a shortlist of some covers that I love that feature exclusively typography. They have all been designed in the 2000s.

James Pants’ Welcome features handmade font by Parra
Doe Maar’s Skunk utilises the great Shatter typeface – unfortunately I didn’t find who designed it.
Grems’ Buffy EP features Grems‘ signature graffiti style typography all over the cover.
The Lions’ Soul Riot’ album cover is made of bold and colourful typography taking up all the space of the artwork.
The cover for XTC’s GO 2 is just typewritten text and was conceived by Hipgnosis
